Sarah Jessica Parker Opens Up About 'Divorce' and How It Motivated Her Get Back on the Limelight

Sarah Jessica Parker is making her way back to the small screen as she took on a major role on HBO's dark comedy series, "Divorce." The "Sex in the City" actress then shared that being part of the series was not her original plan.

Sarah Jessica Parker dished out a few details about HBO's "Divorce" as she talked about how it changed her views on marriage as reported by ABC. During her interview with Peter Travers, Sarah Jessica Parker opened up about infidelity, destroyed marriages and how divorce managed to affect the children.

"When I started developing this show four years ago, it wasn't for me," Parker stated. "It was simply a project that I was interested in, in general. I was very curious about the landscape of marriage and complex adult relationships. And didn't even think it was something that I would be assuming in front of a camera."

"Divorce" which is a dark comedy that is set to premiere on HBO revolves around the life of Frances, who is portrayed by Sarah Jessica Parker. "Divorce" will reveal Frances' dark fate as she lives in an unhappy marriage as she longs for freedom from her husband, Robert, portrayed by Thomas Haden Church.

Sarah Jessica Parker also opened up about Church, stating that she is more than excited to work with him as he'd make a perfect leading man for her character. She then added that church is a great addition to the leading men that she's worked with.

"He was my first choice for this and he had far exceeded what I'd hoped," Parker said. "I feel so lucky. I've had a string of fantastic leading men. And he really just joins a fraternity."

"Divorce" hit the screens on October 5 which managed to capture the viewer's interest during its premiere. During an interview with People, Sarah Jessica Parker shared what it was like to watch "Divorce" with her husband, Matthew Broderick.
