The year is about to close and many may be planning to buy a new smartphone. Could the latest BlackBerry model, the BlackBerry DTEK60, be one of the best smart phones to have this coming 2017?

After their hiatus of over 2 years, BlackBerry is making some noise again. The last BlackBerry that came out in the market was sometime back in 2013 and they have not released any new models to the mass market since then.

According to Pocket Lint, the BlackBerry DTEK60 is set to be released in October 2016, just in time for the holiday season. Rumors have been going around that the BlackBerry DTEK60 is going to be an all touch-device. On the aesthetic aside, the BlackBerry DTEK60 is rumored to appear similar to the Alcatel Idol 4S, but with a different structure at the back.

BlackBerry themselves have leaked some specifications on their website, which included the size and dimensions of the BlackBerry DTEK60. The BlackBerry DTEK60 is 153.9mm in length, 75.4mm in width and 7mm thin, having the same specs as Idol 4S.

The BlackBerry DTEK60 will feature a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with QUAD HD Resolution (534ppi). Moreover the BlackBerry DTEK60 will most likely have subtle curves on its edges as it is patterned after Idol 4S.

Photo buffs will definitely enjoy the phone as the camera of BlackBerry DTEK60 packs 21-megapixels for its back camera. Its front facing camera make use of 8-megapixels, making it ideal for taking selfies.

BlackBerry DTEK60 is said to come with a fingerprint scanner, 4GB of RAM, 32Gb storage and a 3,000mAh built- in battery. BlackBerry DTEK60 boasts of quick charging as it uses Quick Charge 3.0 with a Type C connector. The device will also be using a Snapdragon 820 processor.

This is a definite improvement from the previously released BlackBerry models, at least specification wise. But with the rumored cost between $600-700, BlackBerry DTEK doesn't come in cheap.

With the many smartphones coming out in 2017, it might be good to look at what you need so you can choose the best smartphone that would best fit your budget.
