Microsoft is expected to unveil the new Surface Pro 5 during the Windows 10 event that will be held in New York on Oct. 26. The news came following reports that the company may unveil a brand new desktop at the event which could also pave the way to the reveal of Microsoft Surface Pro 5.
Microsoft has not confirmed the technologies that will be launched at the Windows 10 event yet but PC Advisor pointed out that the company could use the press release to introduce the highly anticipated Surface Pro 5. The specs are also limited at the moment because Microsoft has been tight-lipped about the details of the laptop.
However, iDigital Times reported that Surface Pro 5 may arrive with an improved battery efficiency. One of the main concern on its predecessor, the Surface Pro 4, is its poor battery life. That said, Microsoft is suggested to prioritize the improvement of the Surface Pro 5's battery for longer usage.
Additionally, the Surface Pro 5 is also suggested to pack a Type Cover accessory which is not included in the package of the Surface Pro 4. It is believed that Microsoft could promote better user experience if the Surface Pro 5 will arrive with a basic keyboard accessory for no extra costs.
Meanwhile, previous reports claimed that it is not possible for Microsoft to launch the Surface Pro 5 this year. This is because the company aims to integrate the next generation of Kaby Lake chipset and processor into the laptop which is reportedly set to launch in 2017.
It remains to be seen whether Microsoft will still implement the next generation of Kaby Lake to its Surface Pro 5. However, if it is true that the company will unveil the Surface Pro 5 at the Windows event, could this mean that the laptop will not be equipped with the next generation Kaby Lake processor?
