'Beauty And The Beast' 2017 Cast News & Updates: Emma Watson Honors Angela Lansbury On Her 91st Birthday [VIDEO]

Emma Watson, the star of the live-acton adaptation to "Beauty and the Beast," gave honor to Angela Lansbury. The latter plays the voice of Mrs. Potts in the animated version, who was celebrating her ninety-first birthday last Sunday, Oct. 16.

Emma Watson shared a video with Angela Lansbury singing her trademark song from the "Beauty and the Beast" animated movie on her Facebook page. "Twenty-five years after 'Beauty and the Beast' was released, actress Angela Lansbury reprised the iconic title song at an anniversary screening of the film," the actress captioned the video, capping the post with heart emojis.

Last September, a special was organized for the twenty-fifth anniversary of the release of the "Beauty and the Beast" animation where this video was taken. It happened at the Alice Tully Hall in the Lincoln Center in New York. Angela Lansbury was accompanied by multi-award winning Disney musician Alan Menken on the piano when she sang the unforgettable theme song and received a roaring round of applause from the audience.

Angela Lansbury is well-known for her role as Jessica Fletcher in the 80s TV series "Murder She Wrote," which ran for 12 years. But she endeared fans even more for her work in giving a voice to Mrs. Potts, the head housekeeper of the castle in the "Beauty and the Beast" animation.

In the live-action version of "Beauty and the Beast" with Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as Beast, the role of Mrs. Potts will be portrayed Emma Thompson. Comic Book shared the concept art for the character in the upcoming movie that will hit theaters on March 2017.

The 2017 "Beauty and the Beast" live-action follows the same story and visuals as the animation released in 1991 quite closely. Since it was announced, it has been making fans eager to see how the actors will be bringing Disney's most beloved characters to life. Take a look at the video below, when Disney introduced the cast to an audience for the first time.
