Although they have been officially divorced since December 2014, "Hedwig and Angry Inch" Broadway star, Taye Diggs, and "Frozen 2" actress, Idina Menzel, have agreed to co-parent their five-year-old son, Walker.
In an interview during the promotion of "Angry Inch," Taye said that their relationship as ex-couple and co-parents wasn't without any challenges. However, having their priorities in order seemed to made it work. "As people can imagine, it gets rough at times just because we're not in the same city, but we still love each other and what's most important is we love our son," Taye said to ET Online. "That stabilizes us. I'm thankful for him."
Taye goes on to say that his son with Idina is so well-adjusted. For his role as the transgender rock artist on "Hedwig and Angry Inch," Taye admitted that Walker has actually seen him with a dress and make-up on. "He's unfazed. I think he's on the path of being a really cool adult."
Taye and Idina were married for 10 years before deciding to end their marriage in 2013. According to Perez Hilton, their settlement had been amicable and without any drama or incident, which explained why they could remain friends even when they were no longer together.
Aside from giving priority to their son, the two have now put their energies into their respective careers. Taye will be returning to Broadway in a role that he has taken over from Neil Patrick Harris, Michael C. Hall and Darren Criss. He is the first black actor to do "Hedwig and Angry Inch," according to Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, Idina is set to reprise her role as Elsa in the sequel of "Frozen" along with Kristen Bell and Josh Gad. The movie was confirmed last March during the shareholder's meeting at Disney, according to Variety. The actual release date of the film has yet to be revealed.
Since the announcement, there have been plenty of rumors as to what the storyline for "Frozen 2" would be. Venture Capital Post reports of a possible love story between Elsa and Olaf, with Olaf possibly getting "modifications." There is also a rumor suggesting Elsa could be battling an evil king, in the vein of "Ozma of Oz," a book written by L. Frank Baum, according to Youth Health Mag. The characters of "Ozma" and "Frozen" allegedly have plenty of similarities.
"We have lots of things to figure out but at least we know where we are going," said the film's co-director, Chris Buck, via ABC News. The sequel's ending, however, has already been set, according to the same report.
