HP Elite x3 mobile phone carries high end specs that could probably replace desktops or PCs. HP's new smartphone is designed with Microsoft Continuum and the new Workspace feature from HP. The smartphone reportedly gives the convenience of accessing important productivity apps such as Microsoft Office, making it a PC-like mobile phone on the go.
HP Elite x3 smartphone seems to be a portable PC that runs on Windows 10 mobile operating system that contains the Microsoft Continuum feature. The said feature allows user to connect a keyboard, mouse and a larger computer monitor to the smartphone to turn it into a PC. The device is also designed with the new Workspace feature by HP that supports Win32 apps, including Photoshop, AutoCAD and Chrome, PCWorld reported.
HP Elite x3 is believed to be the most powerful Windows phone today. Sporting both iris and fingerprint scanners, HP Elite x3 allows easier and more convenient unlocking of device. HP Elite x3 users who also access Hello app could actually use either of the two biometric systems to authenticate their log-ins as well.
HP Elite x3 specs include a built-in 4,150 mAh battery with quick charge technology that promotes faster charging in just 10 minutes. A Snapdragon 820 processor that comes with 4GB of RAM powers the device while its internal storage capacity is 64GB which is expandable through microSD card. The smartphone is housed by Corning's Gorilla Glass 4 and is also IP67 water-resistant and MIL-STD 810G drop-resistant.
HP Elite x3 currently sells at $700 without accessories, Business Insider reported. HP's Desk Dock that allows Microsoft Continuum capabilities is sold separately for $150.
