Smartphones and tablets have led people to lose focus in their work, home and social life. Family life is reducing to ruins as parents try to balance it all. Studies show that increased use of these gadgets is giving rise to disagreements and is also crumbling kids' relationship with their parents.
According to Science Daily, parents are unable to attend to them properly because they're too busy striking an equilibrium in their work and social life, which continues even inside the house. Stability is hard to achieve, for parents, as the advanced mobile technology is thirsty for a lot more attention than the old-school books.
With that said, multitasking becomes harder, which isn't understandable to kids who require numerous ways of analyzing different things. Also most parents get annoyed by their kids' constant demand for attention, as they feel emotionally and mentally drained after excessive exposure to technology.
A post in Science Newsline suggests that management and order are the dire need of the moment. Setting boundaries is the only way to efficiently tackle this issue. Each house should have some rules set that everyone should follow, adults and youngsters alike.
Top of the list should be an everyday technology free family time and if not then at least every member should be engaged in it. Another effective solution is eradicating the use of gadgets at times like dinner or bedtime.
Also restricting the use to certain areas of the house like an adult study room so that kids get the least possible exposure and they can be kept away from indulging in them at such an early age. Other ways can include reserving time for different tasks such as completing an office assignment or responding to emails.
Ideal time for such tasks would be when the kids are preoccupied in some activity. Social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter may be catered to in free time like before going to bed or when kids are gone to school.
All these solutions are fairly simple if one has the will. Their implementation would, indeed, make life easier for parents and this particular reason can be the motivation to take a step towards achieving this.
