'Wonder Woman' Movie & News: Gal Gadot Talks Beauty & Fitness, Fashion, Acting & Her Role as a Wife & Mom

While moviegoers won't get to watch the new "Wonder Woman" until its release in 2017, they will get a glimpse of Gal Gadot, the woman picked to play the iconic role, in the "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" movie with Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill next year.

Gal knows that as Wonder Woman, a.k.a. Diana Prince, the expectations are high, "There are so many expectations for this character, it's impossible not to be a little nervous about it," she admitted via Entertainment Weekly.

In preparing for her role, the actress and former beauty queen from Israel has been keeping a rigid exercise regimen. TRX or Pilates are her favorite "because everything's working your whole body," she told E! Online. "I do cardio, but I don't like it as much. I'd rather do weights." She has also learned to have a healthy diet. "But sometimes though, I eat cheeseburgers. That's good for the soul. I make sure to balance everything out. I drink tons of water."

For her fighting scenes, Gal said she has to learn swordplay for the movie, but admitted she is still struggling with using the lasso, Wonder Woman's weapon of choice. The actress, however, isn't a stranger at handling weapons because before she snagged the role of Wonder Woman, she used to serve the Israeli Defense Forces and have gone combat training, according to Cinema Blend.

These days, however, she's very much in the limelight as she has recently been named the face of Gucci's newest perfume line, Gucci Bamboo. The self-proclaimed tomboy dished out some beauty tips on Vogue too, citing red lipstick as her signature color and washing her hair every day, despite being told it's not good for the hair.

Gal said that she was always open to playing "a strong, independent woman," which is why being picked as Wonder Woman is a dream role. "When you go to the movies, [it's always] the heartbroken girl who's waiting to be saved by a guy. In real life, that's not the way it is!" she told Style.

But her three-year-old daughter, Alma, with husband, Yaron Versano, has no idea her mother is a superhero, as her toddler is only smitten by Elsa from "Frozen."

Not a lot of people know that Gal is married with a child, which is yet another challenge for her as an actress taking on the biggest role of her life, "Nowadays being a women (sic) is hard, because we have to be the best wife, best mother, best worker, best everything," she said via E! Online. "But I truly believe we are more empowered... we're also stronger, sophisticated and can achieve what we want. That's what I would like my daughter to know."
