The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences recently bestowed the Nobel Prize for Literature to Bob Dylan, making him the first ever musician to received such an honor. The 75-year old singer-songwriter though is yet to express any reaction towards this latest accomplishment which puts him in the ranks of literary genius such as Gabriel Garcia Marquez and T.S. Elliot.
The Nobel Prize committee made the announcement the same day that the music icon is set to perform in a concert in Las Vegas. Surprisingly, Bob Dylan did not mention anything about the recognition in the said event.
In an article that appeared in Guardian, Sara Danius, the secretary of the Swedish Academy said in an interview that she had tried all means to get in touch with Bob Dylan, the new Nobel Prize awardee but her efforts remain futile. Since Bob Dylan is yet to give any comment, many are now wondering if the influential artist will attend the awarding ceremony for all Nobel Prize winners to be held in Stockholm on Dec 10. Danius remains positive that Bob Dylan will be present.
