Probably "Kodak" would not come to your mind when it comes to smartphones. This is very surprising for everyone that "Kodak" is entering the competition of smartphone as they introduce the "Kodak" Ektra.
Kodak Ektra is simply as the smartphone of the photographer as the Ars Technica reported. With its powerful camera, it seems that "Kodak" Ektra is inviting those photographers around the world.
The Kodak Ektra was reportedly derived its name from their rangefinder back in the 40's era, the Ektra camera. The upcoming "Kodak" Ektra smartphone is not the first smartphone that "Kodak" created, last December "Kodak" already released the Kodak IM5.
In the review made by the Gizmodo, the design of the new "Kodak" Ektra is some kind of an old camera with a leatherette back-cover. The "Kodak" Ektra's special feature is its camera, where it features a 21 megapixel, fast-focus sensor that can bump the maximum of 4K video resolution.
The Fox News provides the "Kodak" Ektra specs and it shows that it is packed with powerful chipset. The "Kodak" Ektra is equipped with a new MediaTek Helio X20 Decacore processor with a 3GB RAM. It is also packed with 32GB memory which is still expandable. The 5 inches HD display screen is topped with a Gorilla Glass to protect its 1920 x 1080 resolution display. The new "Kodak" Ektra smartphone will be using an Android OS.
"Kodak" looks to be serious to get involved in the high competition of smartphone in today's market and demand. "Kodak" has partnered with a company named Bullitt, who were also the company who built the "Kodak" IM5 last year.
"Kodak" Ektra is expected to be released later this year across the Europe as "Kodak" is reportedly no plans to distribute the new Kodak Ektra in other countries. The price will start at £449 or about $550 if other foreign countries tend to buy the unit.
