Producer and rapper RZA was reportedly the person who took Azealia Banks with him at a Hollywood party over the weekend that resulted to the infamous beef between the female rapper and actor Russell Crowe. RZA called Banks an obnoxious and erratic individual in his first ever Facebook status about the matter.
E! News reported that Banks claims the Oscar-winning actor called her a "n****r" and choked her while he tried to remove her from the party after saying some hurtful statements. The incident reportedly took place over the weekend at a Beverly Hills hotel suite and RZA broke his silence over the incident. Banks was the guest of RZA at the event after they had a meeting.
RZA started off by saying that he normally does not respond to negative social media attacks towards him but he felt compelled to speak out about the Azealia Banks-Russell Crowe feud. He noted that he only wishes the best for Azealia Banks and other struggling artists in the industry then noted that he heard rumors about the attitude of the female rapper but he and his producer fought for her to be in the upcoming drama entitled "Coco."
He added that during shooting, everything went smooth and Banks delivered. He then offered Banks of economic help and assisted her in securing a record deal. RZA continued to say that he invited Banks to meet him at the BHH Polo Lounge and that during that time, he also planned to spend time with his friend, Crowe, Mirror reported. RZA said he even asked Crowe if he could take Banks with him so she was able to join them that evening.
RZA reveals, "There was nothing funny about her behavior. I felt a little embarrassed because she was my guest." Banks reportedly threatened to cut a female in the face with a glass and that the rapper actually grabbed a glass and physically attacked the woman for no reason. Russell Crowe then intervened and removed Banks from the suite.
RZA also attested that Russell Crowe never used the n-word on Azealia Banks. A spokesperson for Banks says that they are in disbelief about the statement of the rapper and producer.
Banks and Crowe are yet to comment.
