Fox's "The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do The Time Warp Again" premiered last night on the television network and critics were not so happy with what they saw. The remake of the 1975 classic film brought an ensemble of fantastic cast. But was that enough to make the television film any good? What should fans really expect from Fox's "The Rocky Horror Picture Show"?
After "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" premiere, the critics have gone left and right giving their thoughts, comments and, sadly for a lot of them, disappointments over the TV musical film. Though the cast gave a wonderful job with their characters, the film was unable to bring the classic film's version of storytelling magic. Fox's "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" just doesn't know who its projected audience is, according to The Daily Beast.
On the other hand, some critics didn't feel like the cast of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" has what it takes to sell the fun artistic lunacy that the film was supposed to have, shared by Vox. More than 40 years after the original "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" film was released, Fox's remake effort seemed to have resulted to a washed out version rather than to a tribute.
Directed by Kenny Ortega, Fox's "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" was brought to life by Victoria Justice and Ryan McCartan as the darling couple Janet and Brad respectively. Laverne Cox is playing as Dr. Frank-N-Furter while the role of Rocky Horror was given to Staz Nair. Other casts includes Adam Lambert playing as Eddie, Reeve Carney as Riff Raff, Tony Award winners Annaleigh Ashford and Ben Vereen as Columbia and Dr, Everett Scott respectively and the original Frank-N-Furter Tim Curry as the criminologist narrator of the show, according to Fox.
In case fans didn't catch "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" released, they can see and judge the show for themselves on FOX.com and all FOX NOW apps starting Friday, October 21. For now, check out "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" trailer below.
