'Metal Gear Solid 5' Trailer & Release Date: 'The Phantom Pain' Video Is Exciting! Varying Gameplay Methods Available [Video]

For players who are not familiar on how versatile "Metal Gear Solid 5" is, its developer and franchise father, Hideo Kojima, has released an alter play demo on Tuesday to help its players strategize their game and overcome the challenges. The 31-minute video shows the different approaches players can use to complete missions.

The announcement was made by Kojima over Twitter a day before the release of the demo.

According to PlayStation LifeStyle, among the strategies showed in the video are the following:

1. Partnering with Quiet

"Metal Gear Solid 5" introduces a new selectable buddy named Quiet. A player can choose Quiet and take advantage of the ally's abilities. Buddy possesses an impressive skill in sniping. The first video footage demonstrates Quiet attacking the enemies to cover up Snake while he approached a remote outpost to completed his mission. The buddies and equipment can be mixed and match depending on the challenge and the gamer's strategy.

2. Surgical Air Raid

The second video footage shows how a mission can be carried out explicitly. With Metal Gear Solid 5's action-oriented elements, the player can do a precise and clear strategy to accomplish a mission. For instance, the demo play shows Snake armed in a heavy riot gear, the gamer then takes advantage of the artillery equipped on the chopper to take out a key installation for a night mission. He used a smoke grenade and equipped night vision goggles to see the enemies. Snake attacked the enemies and successfully retrieve the target.

3. Remote Assassination

The video also shows how to carry out a mission from a distance. Snake made use of his prosthetic arm, the Blast Arm, to attack the enemies. The bionic arms have a sonar detector to detect enemies and it can quickly incapacitate an opponent.

4. Thinking "Outside the Box"

As a whole, the "Metal Gear Solid 5" is famous for its sneaky gameplay. Old strategies and new skills are combined to create an even more furtive strategy. In the demo video, Snake intercepts troops on their way to a meeting with the target, he used the cardboard box to slide down the hills and cover himself. He successfully planted an explosive on one of the soldiers and killed the target without getting into the base.

Matthew Pellett had a hands-on experience with the game a month ago and notes that it needs some restraint. PC Gamer quoted Pellett's statement, "Those seeking the classic Metal Gear experience should know The Phantom Pain doesn't disappoint when it comes to corner-hiding, throat-stabbing espionage—but to play it in this manner requires some extreme restraint when the game is urging you to experiment with all it has to offer."

Gamers with PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 will enjoy "Metal Gear Solid:5 The Phantom Pain" on September 1 as announced by PlayStation LifeStyle. On the other hand, for those who will be playing the PC version, the wait will be extended for two weeks as the PC version will be released on September 15.
