The Cleveland Indians has been treated as underdogs. This does not really upset the Indians because they like going out and proving people that they are wrong. Such is the case in the recent World Series where the Cleveland showed how good their team is in winning the series of games.
As conveyed by the Detroit News, Cleveland plowed through the American League playoffs in eight games. They won over the favored AL East champion Red Sox in three games in the Division Series and the favored Blue Jays. Hence, the Indians dominated the three-game sweep of the AL West-champion Rangers, in five games in the best-of-seven ALCS. With 94-67, they won against AL Central by eight games over the Tigers.
They had several members lost due to injuries in September: Danny Salazar, Carlos Carrasco and Yan Gomes. However, they played really well. In game 1 World Series, Trevor Bauer, Cory Kluber and Josh Tomlin started the three games against Boston. The game became really interesting. In fact, according to Newsday, Bauer started against Blue Jays in Game 2 but he incurred an ugly slash on his right pinkie while playing with his drone. He was given 10 stitches for that gush and was pushed to Game 3 in Toronto. However, the wound opened up requiring six relievers. Still, Cleveland won with 4-2 against Toronto. Due to this, Indians manager Francona used Kluber on three day's rest in Game 4 and rookie Ryan Merritt in Game 5. Merritt turned in 41/3 scoreless innings and they had 3-0 victory in Game 5.
Looking at another team, Chicago cubs have a three-games-to-two lead over Dodgers. Cleveland Indians will turn in the same place this postseason in the World Series. As what Kipnis has said, the Indians like being the underdogs but they surely love to prove everybody that they are wrong. Indians will continuously show that they are a good team and they will not stop achieving victory in each game.
