There will be no more Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) on "Supergirl" when it airs its third episode for Season 2. Expressing that she's taking a break from being the boss of her big media company, Cat Grant is going to be missing in action from the series for a while.
Meanwhile, the new episode of "Supergirl" entitled "Welcome to Earth" -- which airs on Monday, Oct. 24, at 8:00 p.m. -- will introduce M'gann Morzz (Sharon Leal) a.k.a. Miss Martian. Lynda Carter will also make her first appearance as the U.S. President. Indeed, "Supergirl" has a big must-watch episode ahead!
Cat Grant expressed in the previous episode of "Supergirl" that she plans on doing something different with her life. As Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) takes care of her company while she's away, Cat Grant could find herself back in Metropolis to explain her absence in the show.
Fans of the DC Comics that "Supergirl" is based from are aware that Cat Grant has ties with Metropolis, which is famously known as Superman's city. The two also had a thing together in several issues of the comic books.
It's still unclear if "Supergirl" on The CW would go this same route with Cat Grant's character. Yet it has been made known that the real reason for the character's absence is because of location problems with "Supergirl's" filming for Calista Flockhart.
As Deadline reports, the actress is unable to uproot her life in Los Angeles to work in Vancouver, where production of "Supergirl" happens. Thus, her appearances have been scaled down. The actress is still a part of the show, but her return on "Supergirl" is also not determined at this point just yet.
Meanwhile, as one character leaves, a new character will be setting foot on "Supergirl." J'onn Jones (David Harewood) is going to come face to face with a fellow Martian in a speakeasy for aliens. He will be intrigued by her odd behavior and will end up confronting her, according to Comic Book. What secrets does Miss Martian hold? Does she know anything about the attack on the president?
"Supergirl" Season 2 Episode 3 will also introduce Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima), who will be working alongside Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh). They are going to track Mon-El (Chris Wood), who has escaped the DEO.
