Google's update list is quite predetermined, to say the least. They will, first and foremost, prioritize their own kin, the Nexuses and the Pixels, as well as other top of the line names. Other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) the likes of Lenovo will have to wait for its turn and settle for third place. Either that or no Android 7.0 Nougat at all.
According to Headlines and Global News, a slew of Lenovo models are set to receive the Nougat update "by the end of 2016." These include the Lenovo K3-K5 Note and the Vibe P1. Also in line is the company's Vibe Phab 2 family, as well as the Lenovo ZUK Z2 and ZUK Z2 Pro. Unfortunately, the ZUK Z1 won't be getting the firmware update because Lenovo gave it a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC.
There is no exact date as to when Lenovo will stream the Android Nougat to all compatible devices, but as they say, patience is a virtue. The latest Operating System is probably one of the best Google was able to develop in recent years. Among others, the update will bring to the table an improved multi-window functionality, quick notification reply, improved camera performance, keyboard themes, VR compatibility and a lot more.
The update is ready; users will be notified with an Over the Air (OTA) notice on their devices. Another option is to check the System Update panel under the Settings menu if it is ready for download via WiFi. Users are also reminded backup their files in cases there will be a mishap in the middle of the download. Likewise, their Smartphones should have enough battery to keep it from shutting down.
Root Update also came up with a list that will accompany Lenovo to welcome the Android 7.0 Nougat. Added to the list is the Lenovo A6000 and the Lenovo A7000 Turbo, as well as other OEMs like Samsung, One Plus, Asus, Xiaomi, LG and Sony. However, the list "is not official" and is based on "sources and hardware capabilities." As for Lenovo users, Nougat will come knocking probably in November or December.
