Most eyes, if not all, are on Huawei. Aside from the fact that they are the third largest Smartphone manufacturer in the world, Huawei is also poised to break their own record by selling over 100 million units this year. To help them regain their spot in the limelight are two upcoming flagship devices, the Mate 9 and the Mate 9 Pro - two of the hottest and most anticipated phones this year.
Pocket Lint has it that the Huawei Mate 9 will look like its predecessor, the aptly named Mate 8. Meaning, the next gen Mate will most likely come with a metal back and parallel antenna bands. In addition, the website said that Huawei will offer two versions of the Mate 9: the traditional flat design, and the other that is equipped with dual-curved edges, just like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and the recently decommissioned Galaxy Note 7.
At the back of the Huawei Mate 9 will be a dual camera that will sit "vertically rather than side by side". It will be nestled between two LED flashes alongside a laser sensor and a round fingerprint scanner. In front of the Huawei Mate 9 will be near "bezel-less" display screen, while the power and volume rocker will be on the right. Leaked images are also pointing to a possible USB Type-C between two speaker grilles, but there's no hint on where the 3.5mm headphone jack will be placed.
On the inside, the Huawei Mate 9 will allegedly host a Kirin 960 processor, the company's latest chip in terms of performance, power and speed. There will also be 4GB of RAM and an option to go 64GB or 128GB onboard storage. The other variant will offer 6GB of RAM coupled with a 128GB memory.
On the other hand, Android Headlines took hold of a leaked manual saying that the Huawei Mate 9's base model will tip in at 5.9inches with full HD display, while the premium version should come with a 5.9inch QHD screen. The two cameras sensors, it added are expected to be 20megapixels and 8megapixels. Huawei is also planning to ship the Mate 9 with Android 7.0 Nougat right from the get go.
With all things said and done, the Huawei Mate 9 and the Mate 9 Pro will most likely be unveiled during the company's November 3 event in Munich. Color variant, according to Wiebo, will spread in nine hues including Enamel Gloss Black, Moonlight Silver and Mocha Gold.
