"The Good Wife" spinoff on CBS All Access is taking shape. Following the announcement that the show is coming to the streaming platform on February 2017, casting, plot and other details have been emerging. "The Good Wife" spinoff still doesn't have an official title. However, confirmed to reprise their role from the original series are Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo as Diane Lockhart and Lucca Quinn respectively.
Sarah Steele, who was a recurring character in the original "The Good Wife," will also be in the new series. TV Line reports that her character, Marissa Gold, will be working as Diane Lockhart's secretary.
Joining the female leads are newcomers Rose Leslie and Delroy Lindo. Rose Leslie will play Maia, Diane's goddaughter, who becomes an instrumental character in "The Good Wife" spinoff. Delroy Lindo will play Robert Boseman, who is Diane Lockhart's competition, per Deadline.
There have been other characters that fans of "The Good Wife" are expecting to show up in the spinoff, but showrunners Robert and Michelle King have not yet confirmed who these are. Among the actors who have expressed wanting to get on board are Chris Noth, Michael J. Fox, Jess Weixler and Carrie Preston. There are also speculations that Julianna Margulies could be returning to the show as well.
