"Sherlock" season 4 is just around the corner. Speculations are high and there are many rumors that are doing rounds about the series. The latest news that is creating ripples is that the famous Outlander star Sam Heughan is rumored to play the third Holmes sibling.
Sam Heughan, is reportedly all set to play the third Holmes brother. The Scottish actor had gained popularity with his role in the time traveler series, Outlander. He joins the pack of "Serlock" alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. The rumor that the actor will be joining "Sherlock" started after Heughan and Sherlock creator Mark Gatiss shared a couple of messages on the social media.
According to reports, the rumor started when Gatiss, through Twitter, asked Heughan as to when they are going to have a meeting to which the actor replied, "when their schedules align." Fans immediately reacted and they definitely wanted to see Heughan take up a part in "Sherlock" Season 4.
Heughan is a widely acclaimed actor and in case he takes up the role as the third Holmes brother, he will definitely do justice to the role. Initially, it was rumored that Tom Hiddleston will be playing the role of the third Holmes brother. However, now fans hope that it is Heughan who lands the role, reported IB Times.
This might be just a rumor that is going around as there is no official confirmation on the news yet. It is known to all that fans that Heughan is currently busy filming "Outlander" and the show is set to return in 2017, reported Sportsrageous.
Meanwhile, "Sherlock" star Benedict Cumberbatch addressed the rumors on the cancellation of the show. He came out clear that he never indicated that the current season will be the final season. He did not completely confirm that there will be a "Sherlock" season 5. However, he did mention that the future seasons of Sherlock may have huge gaps in between as the actors have other projects to attend to.
