"Criminal Minds" Season 12 is rumored to see a special episode to write off the character of Thomas Gibson as Aaron Hotchner. It can be noted that Hotch was not seen in the previous episode of "Criminal Minds" Season 12 and no details were revealed about his whereabouts. The new episode of the hit crime series which will focus on a Halloween serial killer does not include Hotch as well but Agent Emily Prentiss portrayed by Paget Brewster seems to be leading the BAU team.
"Criminal Minds" Showrunner Erica Messer is reportedly planning on making a special episode to give Gibson a flawless exit in the show. Matthew Gray Gubler who plays as Dr. Spencer Reid on "Criminal Minds" is suggested to assist Messer in directing the said episode. However, the official release date of the special episode has not been discussed yet but it is believed to be aired in November, HealthAim reported.
"Criminal Minds" producers have been tight-lipped on how they plan to write off Hotch in the show's story. A number of reports emerged online on how Gibson will leave "Criminal Minds" but none of them were proven true as no formal exit was given to his character. This apparently disappointed fans and caused them to start expressing their thoughts on Twitter with hashtags #NoHotchNoWatch, #SupportThomasGibson and #WeSupportThomasGibson, Morning Ledger reported.
Meanwhile, "Criminal Minds" Season 12 is slated to air its fourth episode on Oct. 26. The new episode is said to be a Halloween special wherein the BAU team led by Agent Prentiss will have to search in a dense forest to locate the dangerous UnSub who had already killed seven victims. It remains to be seen whether the BAU team will be able to catch the Halloween killer before he gets to his next victim.
