"Girl Meets World" is currently under plenty of speculations as it nears the end of its third season, with the fate of Season 4 completely up in the air. Fans, of course, are hopeful to see more of Riley (Rowan Blanchard), Maya (Sabrina Carpenter), and their pals.
Though "Girl Meets World" Season 4 is unlikely now, there's still hope that the Disney Channel series' third season isn't the end. There are plenty of reasons why "Girl Meets World" should get renewed and even its cast members want to continue the coming-of-age TV sitcom.
August Maturo, who portrays the little Auggie Matthews, retweeted a post from the "Girl Meets World" writers' account this month. In that tweet, the series' Season 3 episode titles were listed, with "Goodbye" as the last episode. Maturo tweeted that he isn't ready for 'Goodbye' yet.
"Girl Meets World of Terror," the series' Halloween offering, aired on Oct. 14. That episode will be followed by "Her Monster," "Hollyworld," "A Christmas Maya," "World Meets Girl," "Sweet 16," and "Goodbye." Season 3 will air until 2017 and they have already finished production of the episodes, TVLine reported.
"Girl Meets World" fans have made efforts to keep the series running by launching a Change.org petition. According to the petition's author Ashley Carter, "Girl Meets World" is "the best show on Disney Channel and if it gets canceled they'll lose a lot of viewers." As of this writing, the petition has gained 16,833 supporters.
The main "Girl Meets World" stars are turning their sights on other projects and commitments while waiting for a Season 4 renewal. Blanchard, 15, was involved in a six-minute short film "The Realest Real," which was directed by Carrie Brownstein of "Portlandia" and stars Natasha Lyonne ("Orange is the New Black") and Mahershala Ali ("House of Cards"), according to The New York Times.
Carpenter, on the other hand, is busy ion her burgeoning music career. The 17-year-old recently released her 10-track "EVOLution" album, which features songs such as "Thumbs," "On Purpose," and "Run and Hide."
"There's so many things that I've gone through that I want to share because there's other teenagers that are going through the same things, or will go through the same things," Carpenter said of her new songs, as quoted by Just Jared Jr.
The "Girl Meets World" Season 3 finale will stage a huge reunion with the "Boy Meets World" cast, including Will Friedle (Eric), William Russ (Alan), Anthony Quinn (Mr. Turner), and both actresses who portrayed Morgan -- Lily Nicksay and Lindsay Ridgeway, TVLine listed.
