One of the best things about "Girl Meets World" is the friendship between Riley and Maya. But what would happen - and how would the girls turn out - if they never met and thus, didn't become best friends? The Disney Channel series' upcoming Halloween episode tackles just that.
In Season 3, episode 15 titled "Girl Meets World of Terror 3," Auggie (August Maturo) narrates a Halloween tale where Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) never met when they were younger. They didn't become best friends and that turn-of-events made a huge impact on how they grew up. Watch the sneak peek below.
It has been speculated for several months now that "Girl Meets World" will not be picked up for Season 4. There are rumors that the show will continue running on Freeform, but that's still unconfirmed. Blanchard said in August that the "Girl Meets World" crew already finished filming Season 3 and they're still waiting if they would come back for Season 4.
"We are hoping for a Season 4, obviously, because we want to continue our story, and I feel like it's an important story to tell," the 14-year-old young actress told SheKnows. "But we do have more episodes coming out this year that air into early 2017, so we're covered for a little bit."
For Blanchard, the most important relationship on "Girl Meets World" is Riley and Maya's friendship, as opposed to the Riley-Lucas-Maya love triangle. The show emphasizes how powerful the girls' friendship is and "how it can withstand anything," Blanchard said in her interview with SheKnows. Blanchard added that Riley and Maya "will never let a boy get between them" and it's important how "Girl Meets World" teaches young girls to value sisterhood above obsessing over boys.
The Season 3 finale of "Girl Meets World" will feature a massive reunion with the cast of "Boy Meets World," which aired on ABC from 1993 to 2000. Joining Ben Savage (Cory) and Danielle Fishel (Topanga) are William Daniels (Mr. Feeny), Anthony Quinn (Mr. Turner), Rider Strong (Shawn), Will Friedle (Eric), William Russ (Alan), Betsy Randle (Amy), Lee Norris (Minkus), Danny McNulty (Harley), and both actresses who portrayed Morgan -- Lily Nicksay and Lindsay Ridgeway, TVLine listed. Together, these characters will help Riley make a huge decision.
