Xiaomi Mi MIX Unveiled With Excellent Specifications; Will Mi MIX Be The Next Big Smartphone?

After the tremendous success of Mi Note 2 and Mi Note 3, Xiaomi is now all set to revolutionize the smartphone market once again with its Mi MIX concept phone. The Chinese company unveiled their latest phone, Mi MIX, which boasts of exquisite features that would impress the users.

The Mi MIX is a cool 6.4-inch display screen, edge-to-edge 1080p LCD high-end smartphone. The glossy, full ceramic body and buttons paired with the edge-to-edge display give the Mi MIX phone a classy look like no other. Intended to be a surprise revelation, there were no leaks about the news of the phone being launched earlier.

According to Engadget, the flagship phone, Mi MIX was built in collaboration with a French designer Phillippe Starck. Apparently, this project was started in the year 2014, and Starck was the key person to guide the look and feel of the device. Xiaomi has made another attempt at using a fancy material such as ceramic after the first attempt with Mi 5.

In Mi MIX, the earpiece and the infrared proximity sensor have been eliminated from the top to pave way for the edge to edge display. The edge-to-edge display of the Xiaomi MIX occupies a whopping 91.3 percent of the available surface space. The earpiece is replaced by a cantilevered piezoelectric actuator behind the glass which will be able to produce audible sound for phone calls. Also, there is an ultrasound proximity sensor, which is the first of its kind in smartphones.

In addition, the Mi MIX comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor clocked at 2.35 GHz. Mi MIX is available in two different RAM specifications, namely 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The memory slot is also available as 128GB and 256 GB with a USB 2.0 storage. This refreshingly new product boasts of a 4400 mAh battery with Quick charging support, a fingerprint reader, and HD audio playback.

The Mi MIX device comes with a rear camera of 16 megapixels and a selfie camera of 5-megapixel. At a time when other big companies such as Samsung and Apple are suffering from incidents of explosive batteries and losing their share in the market, Xiaomi through its Mi MIX has brought in a lot of innovation to the table.

The Mi MIX will be available in China from Nov. 4 this year. The basic model costs 3,499 Yuan which approximates to $516 while the high-end model will cost the user around 3,999 Yuan ($590).
