Following a confusion over the introduction of the Android Nougat update in Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus worldwide, Motorola has officially announced that the Android 7.0 Nougat update is still in the making and will be released soon globally.
The ambiguity was sparked off when there was a post on the company's blog that read, "We are excited to announce a new software update for Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus by Motorola. This update brings Android 7.0 Nougat to your phone along with other improvements." This post was followed by a video tutorial that described the installation of the update. Reports by International Business Times explain that the post about Android Nougat update was supposed to go live only when the roll-out commenced but due to the overbearing blog administrator, people misunderstood that 7.0 Nougat has already been rolled out in the market.
The Android 7.0 Nougat has been soaking tested in Brazil earlier last week. Soak testing is a kind of pilot run wherein the software is released to a few users, the performance is observed and if any issues exist, they are verified and fixed. Once this is done it is rolled out to the general public.
Reports by Gadgets 360 suggest that the company has warned the users to install the Android Nougat update only when the phone is connected to the Wi-Fi and has over 50 percent battery charge. Upon receipt of a notification for the update, the user has to select "Yes, I am in" and the update gets downloaded. Then the user needs to click on "Install now." Users who do not receive a message should go to Settings > About Phone > System Updates. If an update is available, the above process must be followed.
The new features that will be enabled as a part of the Android Nougat update include efficient notification controls, multitasking features, improved battery saver features. Also, a notification direct reply will be enabled along with new updated emoticons. In addition, the Nougat update allows the user to shrink the screen with a new swipe gesture.
Excited for the new Android 7.0 Nougat update? Wait till the notification message pops up on your phone to greet you into its exciting new features!
