There is no doubt that "Iron Man" is the most popular superhero in the Avengers squad. Robert Downey Jr. has personalized the iconic character of Tony Stark a.k.a "Iron Man." Due to RDJ's impressive performance; fans are hoping that the actor will reprise his role in "Iron Man 4."
According to previous reports, Marvel and Robert Downey Jr. are struggling to seal a deal in "Iron Man 4" due to the actor's pay hike demands. Many believe that this is the reason for the delay of the next "Iron Man" film. However, fans are still hopeful to see RDJ in his "Iron Man" suits.
In 2014, RDJ confirmed in the Ellen show that he is in negotiations with Marvel for "Iron Man 4." This made "Iron Man" fans ecstatic. Unfortunately, after two years, there is little to no progress about "Iron Man 4." In fact, Parent Herald previously reported that the film is not included in Marvel's phase three lineup.
Aside from Robert Downey's confirmation that he and Marvel are under negotiations for "Iron Man 4," the actor also hinted in the "Captain America: Civil War" inside look clip that he is willing to do one more "Iron Man" film. Fans want RDJ and no else for "Iron Man 4" and the actor feels the same way but what keep Marvel from pursuing the film?

Robert Downey Jr. is already 51 years old and considering that Marvel's third phase will not be ready until 2020, RDJ will be 55 by then. Per Sports Rageous Robert Downey Jr. is too old for the role. However, if Marvel will replace RDJ in "Iron Man 4" with a younger talent they should not expect the same success.
It is clear that Robert Downey Jr. has huge contributions in the success of the "Iron Man" franchise. If not for RDJ's versatility and acting prowess, the genius, billionaire and playboy superhero, "Iron Man" will not be as popular as it is today.
Do you agree that Robert Downey Jr. is too old for "Iron Man 4?" Should fans still push for RDJ or just move on from the "Iron Man" franchise? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
