Fans of the popular novel series, "A Song of Ice and Fire" have been waiting for its sixth book for over five years already. Due to the lack of concrete reports relative to "The Winds of Winter's" release date, tons of speculations are made. Some sources claim that George RR Martin is already done with the series and is quitting but this is not true.
Some reports online claim that George RR Martin is already quitting on his popular novel series. In fact, the New Mexican author reportedly burned the materials for the next "ASOIAF" book, "The Winds of Winter."
"ASOIAF" fans should not believe on those reports. Despite the delay of "The Winds of Winter," George RR Martin is dedicated to finishing the book. In fact, the celebrity author already said that he wish to finish the book and does not want any other writers to work on it because Westeros is his world.
However, we understand that fans are slowly losing patience for "The Winds of Winter." Last month, Amazon France made a controversial bold move after posting a placeholder for "The Winds of Winter" with an alleged release date. The post stirred the "ASOIAF" community, only to find out later on that the date is not confirmed and is actually incorrect.
According to George RR Martin's editor, the scribe is still writing "The Winds of Winter." They can't provide a date as to when the book will be ready but will announce it when the time comes. Earlier this year, GRRM announced that he has finished hundreds of pages but there are still more to write for the anticipated "The Winds of Winter."
Initially, GRRM plans to release "The Winds of Winter" before "Game of Thrones" Season 6 premiere but failed. Then there are reports claiming that the book will be out before the year ends. Then it is pushed back to early 2017. Now, new reports suggest that "The Winds of Winter" will not be available until 2018.
Some blame the delay to George RR Martin's busy schedule, which makes him too distracted to finish "TWOW". The "The Winds of Winter" scribe has a number of commitments. He edits other books, attends conventions and is still working for the last "Game of Thrones" Season.
