The news of Sony Santa Monica's "God Of War" 4 at E3 2016 set long-time "GoW" franchise fans alight. However, PSX 2016 will not leave "God Of War" 4 fans empty-handed it seems.
Even though the soft-reboot of the "God Of War" series was rumoured to take place in a new time and setting, when the E3 demo was shown it not only confirmed the rumours, but followers also began digging for clues and Easter eggs.
The "God Of War" 4 demo showed the Norse location, a mature and (relatively) restrained Kratos with a new son. The "God Of War" 4 demo also revealed a new gameplay system.
No doubt the E3 2016 "GoW" demo was the taster into the new direction on which "God Of War" 4 is going. However loyal "GoW" fans are already anticipating the next reveal by "God Of War" 4 creative director Cory Barlog.
A continuous stream of "God Of War" fans hunger for more details in the next episode of Kratos' saga. That being even though Cory Barlog said he has no intention producing another "God Of War" 4 demo as Parent Herald cites.
Cory Barlog gives a logical and interesting reason for this decision. According to Cory Barlog, has no desire of compromising the final "God Of War" 4 release date to produce more "GoW" demos.
It is almost certain that "God Of War" fans will see the sense in this. However fans are still understandably excited to see something new just a few months after E3 2016.
So it may be of interest to "GoW" fans that in recent posts on Twitter Cory Barlog indicated that he wished to produce (at least), a non-playable "God War demo for fans. Although Cory Barlog did say he is not in the business of making movies.
Also worthy to note is the Twitter confirmation from Cory Barlog to a "God Of War" fan that he will be at this year's PlayStation Experience (PSX) conference in Anaheim, California. Whether Cory Barlog will be there as part of a Sony Santa Monica presentation, or as part of a more low-key attendance remains to be seen.
The former over the latter seems the more hopeful, although Cory Barlog expressed on Twitter that his interest is mostly just to hang out and play. This would not be such a stretch of the imagination given the Sony studio and the "God Of War" franchise's high calibre in the PlayStation domain.
It is apparent that Cory Barlog and the Sony Santa Monica team's number one priority is to release "God Of War" 4 on time and to the usual high standards of the "GoW" series. "God Of War" will be available on PlayStation 4 as well as PlayStation 4 Pro.
