Fox's "24: Legacy" trailer stars the new face that will save the day Corey Hawkins for this fall and midseason slate, years after "24" and "24: Live Another Day."
Hawkins of "Straight Outta Compton" is war veteran Army Ranger Eric Carter, the leader and the only one left in the Special Forces that killed an infamous terrorist. He will be racing against time as he tries to save the United States from another large-scale terror attack.
Carter will play alongside with former Counter Terrorist Unit director Rebecca Ingram portrayed by "Homeland" actress Miranda Otto. And also in the ensemble is Emmy Award Winner Jimmy Smits of "NYPD Blue" and "The West Wing" as senator John Donovan, Ingram's husband that craves to become the country's president.
The action-packed official trailer of this upcoming franchise premiered Tuesday evening during the coverage of the first game of the World Series on the network and also on YouTube and across other social media platforms. It peaked 7 million views on Facebook on its first 24 hours and reached 10 million views and counting afterwards.
Fox's "24: Legacy" trailer even grew at a rapid rate than NBC's "This Is Us" that shined earlier this year on Facebook and this season's biggest new hit.
Corey Hawkins on a previous interview with USA Today speaks on the big shoes he has to fill in place of the franchise star Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer on this classic Fox's signature action series. Hawkins reveals that he was and still continues to be such a fan of the show.
"The real-time premise changed the face of television," Hawkins said. He even added that the idea of being a new hero for a new day sang to him.
The highly awaited "24" revival will be launched with a two-night premiere on Sunday, Feb. 5, after Super Bowl LI. Fox's "24: Legacy" debut will continue on Monday, Feb. 6.
