NBA Trade Rumors: Philadelphia 76ers And Minnesota Timberwolves To Swap Nerlens Noel And Tyus Jones?

As the NBA season is in for a fresh beginning, rumors are spreading that the Minnesota Timberwolves' and the Philadelphia 76ers' are in a possible trade scenario as both teams are looking to bolster their roster. Reports have it that Nerlens Noel and Tyus Jones will find a new home court this NBA 2016-17 season.

The players involved are Timberwolves' second-year guard, Tyus Jones and former top sixth pick in the NBA rookie draft back in 2013, Nerlens Noel. Morning News USA reports that the Timberwolves' currently have a full backcourt with Tyys Jones, who was drafted 24th overall by the team in 2015, is behind point guards Ricky Rubio and rookie Kris Dunn.

Tyus Jones is considered to be on a trading block with the Sixers and New Orleans Pelicans being most interested in the player. Also, league sources said that Timber Wolves are open to moving the rookie in the near future.

Former Most Valuable Player of the NBA Summer League, Tyus Jones is said to be a perfect fit for the Sixers' as the team's current court general, Jerryd Bayless is still out due to a wrist injury. Head coach, Brett Brown has given playmaking duties to sophomore, T.J. McConnell or Sergio Rodriquez. With Jones possibly making the list, this could boost their backcourt needs.

Not only will this be beneficial for the Sixers, Nerlens Noel's possible transfer to the Wolves' will improve the team's perimeter shooting skills. According to Wikipedia, Noel played 67 games during the 2015-2016 season with the Sixers, and he averaged 11.1 points and 8.1 rebounds and an outstanding 52.1 percent from the field. With Noel's move to the team, he will come of the bench behind high-flyer, Zach LaVine, and other shooting guard, Brandon Rush.

With none of these rumors being officially announced by the NBA league, this potential trade is worth doing for both teams. For now, fans will have to wait and see what would be the next move as the NBA season has just begun.
