Toddler Drowned In His Own Food By His Father; Culprit Faces Imprisonment But Shows No Remorse

A man found guilty of manslaughter and cruelty to a child by majority verdicts due to killing his own 3-year old son by drowning him in food is now in jail. He reportedly let his son eat by force a mixture of bread and cereal that the little boy ended up choking to death.

The little boy was made to lie across his father's lap and then had been poured down with the porridge-like mixture into his mouth from a cup. The food was a mixture of bread, milk, Weetabix, oats, rice pudding and spaghetti according to a report by Daily Mail.

The 32-year-old father from northwest London, not named due to legal reasons, was slapping his son or sending him to bed on occasions when he vomited during feeding, as per Prosecutor Simon Denison QC during the trial that the defendant.

"There was a very large amount of vomit that looked like a porridge substance on his face and his chest and not the floor." The Guardian quoted Denison saying. "It was very difficult to clear his airway because of the amount of porridge-like substance that was in his throat. When CPR was attempted, more of the substance came out." The prosecutor added.

From the postmortem examination, it was revealed that virtually all sections of his lungs were stuffed with recognizable food material. The cruelty of the father led to having a large amount of porridge-like mix inhaled and aspirated in his respiratory system, causing the little boy to get drowned.

The father of the toddler has been in custody for the final verdict by Mr. Justice Singh at the Old Bailey Today. Two members of the jury which convicted him see him today being sentenced to nine years. Mr. Singh said that the defendant expressed no remorse for what he did to his son.
