Raven-Symone has made a huge craze online recently with her huge announcement of an upcoming "That's So Raven" spin-off on Disney Channel. Will Orlando Bloom be one of the stars returning to the show?
Raven-Symone, the main star of the 2003-2007 Disney hit "That's So Raven," has recently announced in her New York-based talk show "The View" that she is currently working with Disney Channel as an actor and executive producer of the project. This goes without saying that she's one of the people who calls the shots in producing the much-awaited comeback show. But according to a TMZ, Orlando Bloom, who played Raven's BFF Eddie Thomas, said he has not yet received a call from the crew and staff about reprising his role on the show.
The two stars had a misunderstanding this year as Orlando posted on his Instagram account that Raven accused him of stealing her phone. This beef has led to a number of malicious reports about Orlando's worsening relationship with "That's So Raven" spin-off new executive producer.
Orlando has made headlines this year for being in trouble with the law as he faced charges of domestic battery and drug possession. The actor ranted on his Instagram account afterward claiming that Raven and all his co-stars didn't even check up on him about his ordeals.
According to a VH1 report later on, the troubled actor even claimed that Raven had his baby and went through an abortion. He posted on his IG account a rap song with lyrics, "It's like Raven aborted my baby," starting rumor buzz at the time. Both parties have never commented on this issue ever since.
With controversial statements that Orlando has made about his co-star, it is not that surprising that the actor has not yet received any call from the spin-off crew. "It's a serious situation because we have fans from across the world who love the entire cast. It started off as an ensemble cast," Orlando said in the video. "We did what we had to do to make a historical moment happen. And I don't think it would happen without all of us."
The spin-off story will evolve around Raven Baxter, who's now a divorced single mother to a son and a daughter. The show would see that one of her kids has inherited her psychic abilities. Orlando mentioned in the video that he thinks the plot is "dope," and hinted that the ensemble's comedic timing and chemistry made the hit show a household success.
Symone expressed her excitement to find new talents who will work with the old cast, although she did not mention which ones are reprising their roles on this comeback. She shared that nationwide castings are about to be conducted in the coming months.
"I am not the head of the casting. But I'm on it right now and we will be going around the country, finding those really, really really good talented females and males to be on the show. One thing I love about 'That's So Raven' was we had a cast that was seasoned. People that have had their own shows, people who have worked with all kinds of people. And when you surround new talents with veterans, you help raise new talents in the industry," she shared.
"I'm just so excited! Anybody who wants to be on the Disney Channel, there's going to be auditions soon for the new 'That's So Raven,' so let's go," she said.
Guess Orlando Brown would just have to wait for that call from Raven then to get updates? What do you think?
