Next installment of the famous racing franchise, "Grand Theft Auto," is reportedly on a production halt as the title faces several problems along the way. A few of which is about its alleged new setting and Rockstar Games gearing for the upcoming arrival of "Red Dead Redemption 2."
Neurogadget reports that it is true that "GTA 6" production is highly likely paused until further notice. Earlier this year, reports say that the developers are trying to give "GTA 6" a new face as they aim to move from the United States to the Japanese capital, Tokyo.
The gaming company is reportedly facing multitudes of dilemmas as they attempt to move "GTA 6" setting, primarily concerning the cars and brands to be featured in the sixth installment. Per Tech Radar, Rockstar developers are "serious" with the plan despite the idea being a bit problematic.
Moreover, another issue that Rockstar allegedly encounters with "GTA 6" is the time constraint as the company is set to unveil the second title of "Red Dead Redemption." The Western game is slated to be released in fall of 2017 with an ample time left for the developers to furnish the game alone without any distraction from "GTA 6" unless they expand the workforce.
Plus, the developers are traversing the rocky road as the former president, Leslie Benzies, filed a lawsuit against his previous colleagues in the gaming company. Benzies play a pivotal role in the production of "GTA" series as he used to be the lead developer of the famous franchise.
Lastly, financial concerns were also reportedly coming in the way of "GTA 6" production. While the title has been a lucrative business for more than eight years, budget constraints have been a persistent problem as the plans for a bigger, better "GTA 6" outweighs what Rockstar can only afford.
If any of these rumors are true, it makes sense that the company will be moving the release date of "GTA 6." Word is that the action-adventure game is slated to debut in 2020, says a separate Neurogadget report, but with hefty new features such as VR support, to name one.
