'Ant-Man 2' Trailer & Spoilers: Michael Douglas Confirms Sequel? Actor On Board For Second Movie [Rumors]

Following the success of "Ant-Man," fans are already looking forward to its next installment. It might sound exaggerated that people are already anticipating "Ant-Man 2" when its first franchise is still showing, but yes, "Ant-Man" fans do and even "Ant-Man" casts show interests in reprising their roles.

Michael Douglas is now part of Marvel franchise after playing the character of the brilliant scientist and original "Ant-Man," Hank Pym, in the said film. When asked if Douglas is interested to reprise his role, he said, "It'd be great. It'd be wonderful if it comes up, but there's no - I haven't heard any plans or anything. ... But I gather, at the famous Marvel end credits tease, you get a sense ... of what might happen in the future. I don't want to spoil that for people who haven't seen the movie," according to Wall Street Journal.

As for Douglas' experience in filming "Ant-Man," the Oscar-winning actor revealed that he is envious with his friends Jack Nicholson and Danny DeVito, who starred in "Batman," because he had not done any movies in the past with special effects and his participation in "Ant-Man" was a tremendous opportunity.

"I was fascinated by the special effects. I hadn't done any movies with special effects. I was pretty curious to see how it went," Douglas said in the report. "I just loved going between the units. We were in the first unit, obviously, the principal actors, but you had the second unit with the stunt guys, the third unit with the special effects, and the fourth unit was with the ants. I just found it fascinating to see how they put it all together."

If, in case, Marvel is considering the next installment of "Ant-Man," here are some of the villains that fans wish to see in the next film, as listed by Screen Rant:

1. Scarlet Beetle - Moviegoers believe that this creature is a perfect match to Ant-Man's abilities. Scarlet Beetle is an ordinary beetle that developed super intelligence and superhuman strength after being exposed to a radiation from an atomic experiment. This villain has the ability to command insects as well.

2. Whirlwind - A professional criminal and mutant, who can spin his body like a top. According to Screen Rant, Whirlwind was a nemesis to Hank Pym because of his size. He is a Giant Man and was obsessed to kill Wasp. His insidious behavior and goal for vengeance makes him an interesting villain. Moreover, the spinning effects may look amazing on the big screen.

3. Taskmaster - A deadly mercenary with the ability to imitate the physical movements of anyone he sees. In the comics, he has a fight with Ant-Man and Hawkeye, where the duo teamed up to battle him at a traveling carnival. Fans would love to see Paul Rudd and Jeremy Renner together for this scene.

4. Egghead - He is called with such name because of his egg-shaped head. He would be a perfect villain because he considers himself as Hank Pym's arch nemesis and has tried several times to defeat Pym.

5. Crossfire - He is a cousin of Darren Cross, Ant-Man's first rival. In the comics, he is Hawkeye's mortal enemy, but his loose connection to the first Ant-Man could lead Marvel to transition him to Ant-Man and give the audience a team-up of Ant-Man and Hawkeye.

Although the next film is not yet confirmed, an "Ant-Man" movie sequel will likely be discussed by the production and crew as they receive continuous positive reviews from fans.
