NVIDIA has been rolling out powerful GPUs for many years and they have not disappointed the gamers in giving out cards that match their budget and their preference. Just recently, NVIDIA announced the all-new GTX 1080 Ti, which may be more powerful than Titan X.
NVIDIA co-founder and CEO Jen-Hsun Huang confirmed the launch of the GTX 1080 Ti and stated that it will grace the industry with greater impact due to its virtual reality support. However, no details of its specs have been out yet.
Tech aficionados, on the other hand, already have their bets on the specs of GTX 1080 Ti. Most forecast on the price considering the cost of the Titan X, which makes GTX 1080 Ti approximately be priced like the former GPU, Digital Trends noted.
Titan X was released for high-end gaming and such, it has a price tag of $1,200. GTX 1080 Ti may be around the same amount, though it is still uncertain whether GTX 1080 Ti will have better or lesser specs than the Titan X.
GTX 1080 Ti may boast a whopping 12GB DDR5 memory with a speed of 8GB per second. The bandwidth memory may be around 384GB per second while the memory interface may be at 384-bit width. Enthusiasts also believe that the GTX 1080 Ti will have a boosted clock speed of 1623GHz from the 1503GHz base clock speed.
The release of GTX 1080 Ti has also got a lot of analysts seeing the possibility of being in tight competition with AMD Radeon RX490. NVIDIA and AMD have always been competing in the gaming world and their GPUs have been commonly compared by gamers themselves.
GTX 1080 Ti is expected to run on lower power consumption with only 180 Watts against RX490's 225 Watts. The latter GPU is said to be more powerful with its 12 teraflops architecture than GTX 1080 Ti's 10.
Both GTX 1080 Ti and Radeon RX490 are yet to grace the shelves. GTX 1080 Ti is expected to become available in early 2017 while RX490 may come out anytime this month.
