Only a few days shy of Blizzard's Halloween 2016 event, an image of the highly anticipated new "Overwatch" character, Sombra, has leaked online. The image accidentally came out through the BlizzCon store but the Internet was quick to make the piece immortal, thanks to sneaky Reddit fans.
Forbes reports that the image appears to be a high-quality artwork of Sombra that very much resembles the first Sombra image that was leaked weeks earlier. The image also had a watermark, which tells about the illustrator behind the character. Apart from it, no other further information was seen.
Based on the image, Sombra's artwork was created by John Polidora, an illustrator and Senior Concept Artist working for the gaming company for over a decade. Polidora's description over Artstation revealed that he is currently working for "Overwatch," which made fans come to a conclusion and finally arrive at a eureka moment--it may officially be the new ARG character.
The image of the purple-clad heroine that first gave a look of Sombra leaked through a Russian "Overwatch" website. Fans, however, were doubtful if it was the new ARG character, considering that the image was rendered in a low quality and it came out from an unlikely place of origin. Yet, as IGN reports, the new image of Sombra and the old one the leaked weeks ago match in every aspect.
Parent Herald previously reported that Blizzard may be unveiling the new "Overwatch" character on Nov. 4, during the annual BlizzCon event. The last time Sombra has been teased was through a Mayan Calendar code which leads to an "inauguration" on Nov. 1, based on the hacked LumeriCo page. While Sombra has not been unveiled on the said date, it was expected that the new "Overwatch" hero will be introduced during Blizzard's post-Halloween event.
