Nintendo's Wii U Still Lives! Nintendo Denies Reports Claiming Wii U Production Will End This Week!

With the poor performance of Nintendo's Wii U, rumors have been speculating about the gaming console's demise. According to Eurogamer, the game outlet's "multiple sources" have confirmed that the production of Wii U consoles will end this coming November 4.

Wii U was the gaming console that Nintendo developed to become the successor of their other wildly popular Wii. However, unlike the Wii, Nintendo's Wii U had a disappointing performance in the market. In the four years Wii U was available in the market, the gaming consoles' sales drop fifty-three percent annually. Only about thirteen million Will U units were sold. A dismal number compared to Wii's 101 million units sold.

Wii U's confusing dual-screen feature fell unfavorably to consumers who chose the simplicity of Sony's Playstation and Microsoft's Xbox. It doesn't help that Wii U only caters to Nintendo games as most gaming companies opted out in developing games for Wii U.

Although notable games like "Super Mario 3D World", "Super Mario Kart 8", "Splatoon", "Bayonetta 2", and "Super Mario Maker" were made available for Nintendo's Wii U. It didn't help increase the sales of the gaming console.

With Nintendo's announcement of the new gaming console, Switch, a better more relevant version of Nintendo's Wii U, the end of Wii U was inevitable. As a last hurrah, Nintendo is hoping that the upcoming game "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild" will boost the sale of Wii U. However, the game will also be made available to Nintendo's Switch. Most game analysts forecast that consumers would rather but Nintendo's Switch to play "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild" than playing it on Wii U.

The growing excitement for Nintendo's Switch is one of the factors that Wii U lacks. Hopefully, Nintendo's Switch can deliver what it promises and not follow the path of Nintendo's Wii U. Jokingly, many are anticipating that Nintendo's Wii U would become a novelty for gaming enthusiasts as a piece of gaming history rather than a good gaming console.

According to a Nintendo representive, reports of Nintendo ending production of Wii U are entirely false. The gaming company intends to continue production of Wii U.

How about you? Did you own a Wii U? Do you think the production of Wii U will end this week or not?
