"Civil War," a Marvel's Captain America sequel, will host the characters of Scott Lang to be played by Paul Rudd. "Civil War" comes from the recently showed "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."
The storyline, though, will not highlight the complicated web story featured in the Marvel's original version. Also, The Wasp is not yet expected to show in the plot. Marvel Studios Head, Kevin Feige, explains that "Civil War" is much simpler, Screenrant reports.
"'Civil War' is a relatively simple story. ['Avengers: Age of Ultron'] had a lot going on. Civil War is a surprisingly grounded story about two characters that most audience members have come to know and like and admire finding themselves on different sides of a political argument, like the country does on many occasions, and how they both respond to that. That's the story. So it's actually a very, very simple story, and then how their personal relationships fit into that," Feige tells Screenrant.
Recently featured in "Ant-Man," The Wasp's original daughter, Hope Van Dyne, which was supposedly to be played by Evangeline Lilly, said via Refinery29, "It's about damn time!" when asked when she will pull The Wasp suit on. The storyline showed that the suit was made by Janet for her daughter before she died. Slashfilm reports that The Wasp will most likely to appear in phase three, but not in "Civil War."
Screenrant mentions that the disappearance of The Wasp is certainly disappointing since its debut as part of The Avengers is yet to happen; however, it is still on the brighter side that her presence in phase three will not be overshadowed as much as how it may by all other significant events that might happen in "Civil War."
"She was included in early versions of Civil War but there are so many characters in Civil War that we didn't want to do her a disservice, like she flies in, 'I've got the costume now', and she flies out. With Ant-Man, and I'm not saying thats what Ant-Man does in the movie, but we already know him, we've already seen him. We haven't seen her as Wasp and we don't want to rob the opportunity of seeing her in the outfit for at least almost the first time, and seeing her dynamic with Scott in a way it could play out, so we're saving it. But its going to be in Phase three for sure," Feige told Slashfilm.
The film will also feature Michael Douglas to play as former Ant-Man Hank Pym, Chris Evans as Steven Rogers, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson and Sebastian Stan as Buckie Barns.
"Civil War" premieres next year.
