‘Criminal Minds’ Season 12 Episode 5 Cancellation News, Update: Air Date Of New Episode Delayed, Hotch To Be Given Proper Exit Soon?

"Criminal Minds" Season 12 Episode 5 air date has been delayed. With this, fans couldn't be more excited to see the new episode that was slated to air on Nov. 2. Additionally, fans of the show are now anticipating the release of the episode that was reported to give Thomas Gibson's character Aaron Hotchner a smooth exit in the show.

"Criminal Minds" Season 12 Episode 5 is expected to highlight bullying among teenagers. The plot of the new episode was revealed to focus on two high school students who survived an attack on their families, TV Guide reported. Though the plot seems to be interesting, "Criminal Minds" fans are more interested in how the showrunners will write Hotch out of the series' storyline.

"Criminal Minds" enthusiasts have not moved on from the removal of Gibson's character in the show. Though it was previously reported that the second episode of Criminal Minds Season 12 will be Gibson's last appearance in the long-running series, latest reports claimed that a new episode is being planned to give Gibson a proper exit. "Criminal Minds" Showrunner Erica Messer is said to produce an episode that will center on Hotch' flawless exit which is rumored to be aired this month, Parent Herald reported.

However, nothing has been confirmed on the official release date of Hotch' special episode as of this posting. It can be recalled that producers of the show did not release official statements on how they planned to remove Gibson's character on "Criminal Minds." Fans thought that Gibson will also be given a tribute episode similar to what they did for Shemar Moore but that was not the case.

It can be recalled that the last time Hotch was seen with the BAU team was on the second episode of "Criminal Minds" Season 12. However, nothing important was revealed about his character and his appearance on the episode was very short. Because of this, "Criminal Minds" fans took into social media their disappointment that Gibson was not even given a proper goodbye and used hashtags #NoHotchNoWatch and #WeSupportThomasGibson.

"Criminal Minds" Season 12 Episode 5 is slated to air on Nov. 9. In the meantime, check out the preview of the next episode in the video below.
