NFL Trade Rumors: Dallas Cowboys Interested In Acquiring Cameron Wake In A Trade Deal?

Jerry Jones' Dallas Cowboys have been performing very well in the season currently holding a 6-1 record with rookie Dak Prescott in the quarterback position. Jones was rumored to be interested in obtaining the service of Miami Dolphins' defensive end Cameron Wake but later dismissed it.

The Cowboys were reportedly interested in Wake, but were deterred by the steep asking price, according to the Miami Herald. Furthermore, as reported by Cowboys Wire, Jones is intent on keeping the team as it is on trade deadline.

Cowboys quarterback Prescott has been in pristine condition in recent games. Prescott was able to handle the pressure even in crucial games, as the Cowboys beat the Philadelphia Eagles in overtime in Week 8.

Tony Romo was speculated to return from injury in the recent games, but Jones quickly dismissed the rumors. It is also unlikely that Romo will be making a return soon with the excellent performance of Prescott.

According to Sportsrageous, Jones is not expected to make an impulsive decision with regards to bringing in Wake to the Cowboys. Besides Wake, the Cowboys are also rumored to be interested in Sheldon Richardson, but the speculations also did not come to being.

Firm in their decision not to bring in players from trade deals, the Cowboys are likely to get additional manpower only from waivers and players promoted from the practice squad. This is consistent with the idea of Jones wanting to keep the current squad until the trade deadline.

In the same report by Sportsrageous, it is presumed that the Cowboys would rather keep their picks for upcoming young talents with star potential instead of acquiring players from other teams. Without a doubt, Jones is convinced that the capabilities of the current Cowboy squad are sufficient to achieve the team's goals.
