The new NBA season has just begun but everyone is still on the lookout about the progress in the NBA trade. According to recent NBA trade rumors, Sacramento Kings' Rudy Gay could be joining Russell Westbrook in OKC Thunder in exchange for Cameron Payne.
Every NBA enthusiast following the NBA trade rumors knows that Rudy Gay is determined to leave Sacramento Kings. The small forward player wants to improve his basketball career and he just doesn't feel progress with Kings.
Rudy Gay and his teammate DeMarcus Cousins are regulars in the NBA trade rumors. This time reports suggest that Rudy Gay could be heading to Oklahoma City Thunder to play with Russell Westbrook.
According to Chatt Sports Net, OKC Thunder has successfully addressed their backcourt problem after acquiring former Philadelphia 76ers' Jerami Grant. However, the trade cost them Ersan Ilyasova.
The report added that Cameron Payne suffered a foot injury last September but Jerami Grant was an instant replacement. Now they are looking for someone to fill the void that Ersan Ilyasova left in Thunder and this is where Rudy Gay comes into the picture.

However, adding Rudy Gay will not be easy as rumors suggest it would mean trading Cameron Payne to Sacramento Kings. Will the Rudy Gay-Cameron Payne trade works for both teams?
Per Sactown Royalty, this could work for Thunder. Rudy Gay and Ersan Ilyasova are capable of playing the small and power forward positions. Ersan Ilyasova is also great at outside shots and in driving the lane, which Rudy Gay is also great at.
Rudy Gay will be a great addition to OKC Thunder after losing Kevin Durant to Golden State Warriors. At the time, Russell Westbrook is leading Thunder and things are expected to be better if Kings' small forward Rudy Gay will join the team.
Do you agree that the Rudy Gay and Cameron Payne trade will work? Since Rudy Gay's trade value is high, do you agree that this will cost Thunder a number of players? Should OKC Thunder and Sacramento Kings push this trade? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
