‘The LEGO Movie’ Spin-off: ‘The LEGO Batman Movie,’ 4th Trailer Released; Dark Knight Will Indeed Brighten Your Day!

With "The LEGO® Movie" becoming a phenomenal box office hit and receiving "nearly unanimous favorable reviews," a sequel is bound to be built. Warner Bros. announced that the sequel titled "The Lego Movie Sequel" will be scheduled for a May 18, 2018 release.

In the meantime, a spin-off was arranged with the hero of justice Batman, the self-described leading man of "The LEGO Movie" ensemble, to star in his own, soon-to-be, phenomenal movie production. Last April 20, 2015, the creative giant behind the worldwide phenomenon "The LEGO Movie" Warner Bros. scheduled "The LEGO Batman Movie" for a February 10, 2017, release date.

Will Arnett was tapped to return as the voice of Batman, or as most fans and almost everybody else knows Bruce Wayne. Chris McKay, who originally was supposed to direct “The Lego Movie Sequel,” is now attached to “The LEGO Batman Movie,” which was written by Seth Grahame-Smith and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers.

“The LEGO Batman Movie” is said to be produced by Roy Lee, Chris Miller, Phil Lord, and Dan Lin. An additional character for the caped crusader’s spin-off will be his adopted orphan, Dick Grayson aka Robin, who will be voiced by Michael Cera, the “Arrested Development” co-star of the voice of Batman, Arnett.

Of course, "The LEGO Batman Movie" would not be a "Batman" movie without the Dark Knight's archnemesis Joker. To be the voice behind the Clown Prince of Crime is Zach Galifianakis, who entered final negotiations for the "The LEGO Batman Movie" last August 12, 2015.

Other voice actors for the cast of "The LEGO Batman Movie" include "Daredevil's" (TV series) Rosario Dawson for Barbara Gordon, daughter of James Gordon and later becomes Batgirl, and the "Harry Potter's" Ralph Fiennes as Alfred Pennyworth, Batman's Butler.

An interesting addition to the voice actors is Mariah Carey. The songbird was rumored at first to voice Commissioner Gordon. Instead, Carey was cast as the as-yet-unnamed Mayor of Gotham City.

The trailer of "The LEGO Batman Movie" was initially released last March 24, 2016. But new trailers for the movie keep popping up including a 4th trailer released 22 hours ago as of this writing, adding to the intense excitement for the all-time classic superhero no matter what type of production the film is made.
