With his victory over Rusev in last Sunday's Hell in a Cell, Roman Reigns turned his attention to Kevin Owens on this week's Monday Night Raw. Reigns concluded the show by battling it out against Chris Jericho before Owens interrupted and teamed up with Y2J to assault him. Seth Rollins then entered the ring to rescue Reigns.
Following the development, rumors suggest that a contest between Reigns and Owens for the WWE Universal Title is incoming. To back the speculation, PPG Paints Arena Pittsburgh, which will be the venue for the Raw exclusive pay-per-view "Roadblock," posted the photo below on Twitter:
However, the tweet comes only from the venue hosting the event, and not from WWE itself. Although it is likely that the fight will happen, the schedule is always subject for change, according to Fox Sports. "Roadblock" is scheduled to take place next month.
In a report by Forbes, it is believed that a Reigns-Owens bout to be a bad idea. It will reportedly only back the creative team for WWE into a corner, similar to the Goldberg-Lesnar feud.
Nonetheless, WWE fans were very excited to see Reigns and Rollins together in the ring without fighting, but the rumored Reigns-Owens match up also generated a lot of excitement from the fans. Whether or not the two former Shield members are in good terms, a Reigns-Owens fight card will definitely be interesting.
Subsequently, Reigns and Owens are set to represent Team Raw in a classic five-on-five match-up against Team SmackDown on Survivor Series. Reigns and Owens will be fighting alongside Braun Strowman and Chris Jericho for Team Raw, while Randy Orton, Dean Ambrose, AJ Styles, Bray Wyatt, and Baron Corbin will be representing Team SmackDown.
Although there is a lot of talent in the five-man Raw Team, it is anticipated that the rivalry between Reigns and Owens will affect the team's performance in Survivor Series. Will their rivalry cause Team Raw to be defeated by a formidable Team SmackDown? Share your thoughts and predictions with us!
