After its release of the PlayStation Virtual Reality headset last month, Sony has gotten gamers around the globe waiting for the launch of its upcoming revamped PS4 called "PS4 Pro" on November 10th. Previously dubbed as the PS4K and PS4 Neo, Sony's latest home console joins Microsoft's XBOX Project Scorpio as the new wave of mid-generation 4K console upgrades. Adding more hype is the latest online unofficial reports that "Final Fantasy 7" remake is going to be one of the upcoming games to become available on PlayStation 4 Pro.
Although neither Sony nor game developer Square Enix is yet to confirm, the speculation started when a Final Fantasy fan suggested on Reddit that the developer is currently polishing the game to match it with the specs of PlayStation 4 Pro. Same unofficial source added that this is also the reason why Square Enix decided to delay the much-awaited game.
Many gamer fans believe that Sony will reveal significant information about the new gaming system before its big launching. Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro is positioned to face tough competition in the future as Nintendo and Microsoft will also release their own upgraded consoles.
Earlier in the year, a series of leaks have revealed that reported of its visual and performance upgrades as part of a dedicated 'Pro' mode for selected games, 4K and HDR output, and full compatibility with existing PS4 games and peripherals. This means more definitive visuals and sharper, faster frame rates than ever before. The addition of 4K capability makes it all the more worthy of the rave, as the 4K output on a console makes this the perfect gaming system to get.
According to Sony's official website, the new 4K console offers more vivid game worlds with its rich, spectacular, heightened visuals. It also takes pride in its "enhanced gameplay", which supports for faster frame rates that deliver super-sharp action for select PS4 games.
The website confirmed that Sony's PS4 Pro boasts of its "one unified gaming community", as it is compatible with every PS game. One can play online with other PS4 players with PlayStation Plus. Gamers can indeed enjoy "extraordinary entertainment" with up to 4K streaming and 4K auto-upscaling for video content, according to the website.
The all-new PS4 Pro has "more than doubled" the GPU power of the standard PS4, with its 36 'improved' GCN compute units at 911MHz. It uses AMD's Polaris architecture.
The clock rate of the CPU has been boosted as well with its Eight Jaguar cores at 2.1GHz. Its memory feature is at 8GB GDDR5 at 218GB/s, which means 24% more bandwidth, 512MB more useable memory.
The much awaited PS4 Pro is poised to become Sony's most powerful console ever which will give PS4 games a visual boost, displaying higher resolution and frame rate, plus supported titles. It reportedly has 4K upscaling of games with checkerboard rendering and some native 4K games, 4K video support such as Netflix, YouTube.
It also has Wifi Improvements at 5GB IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac supported. PS$ pro also comes with "streaming improvements" with Remote Play up to 1080p on PC, Mac and Xperia, Share Play from PS4 Pro at 1080p and "Share improvements" with its 4K screenshots, 1080p video and 1080p60 YouTube streaming
