Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will finally get the Android Nougat 7.0 Beta update. Tech giant Samsung is planning to get the Android updates sometime in the next month beginning with its Galaxy Beta Program, which will be held on Nov. 9.
Previously, Samsung updated Android Marshmallow without anything official and the same is followed with Nougat update for its flagships. According to Tech Radar, US and UK owners of Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge can participate in the Galaxy Beta Program.
Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge users from the US need a model from Sprint, T-Mobile or Verizon for the update while UK users must unlock their devices for the update. Android Nougat 7.0 Beta program does not hold to Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Edition and Batman Injustice Edition.
Samsung has introduced a specialized app called "Galaxy Beta Program," which allows Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge users to update Android Nougat 7.0 Beta OS. Users need to download the app from Samsung's official Galaxy Apps store.
The user needs a Samsung account (get one here) to register on the Beta Program. Samsung's Android Nougat Beta is not the final version of the operating system, thus the user may find few technical errors. Users should be aware of the warning of Android Nougat 7 Beta update.
Android Nougat has been installed in many devices after its release nearly three months back. Only a handful of new smartphones have been confirmed to ship with Android Nougat 7.0, which include the LG V20 and the newly launched Huawei Mate 9.
Android Nougat 7.1 will be rolled out soon by Google as only Nexus or Pixel device can be signed up to the Android beta program to benefit. Stay tuned for more updates.
