‘Mass Effect: Andromeda’ News, Update: No Andromeda Installment To Be Released, Offline Play Campaign Confirmed; New ‘Mass Effect’ Trilogy To Be Developed?

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is reportedly meant to be a stand-alone game with an offline campaign gameplay support. The game is expected to wrap up as a complete story. However, reports claimed that there might still be other "Mass Effect" games to be developed in the future.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" will not be followed by a sequel as it is not intended to be part of a trilogy. Creative Director Mac Walters revealed that Andromeda's story is unique to the rest of the "Mass Effect" games. Walters said that they hope to tell a contained story about "Mass Effect: Andromeda's" main character Ryder, Gamespot reported.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda," however, could not be the last "Mass Effect" game. Bioware is still expected to come up with more "Mass Effect" games that will be based in the Andromeda galaxy. This does not mean that the games will be installments to "Mass Effect: Andromeda" though.

Meanwhile, Walters also confirmed that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" campaign has an offline gameplay support. Moreover, fans may be delighted to know that the game companions and other members cannot be killed in the campaign. Reports also claimed that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will get an updated New Game mode.

Also, "Mass Effect: Andromeda's" N7 day revealed neat treats to fans of the game. Of course, the first cinematic trailer was released and it highlighted the new characters and villains. As Ryder entered a new galaxy, he met on a new alien race that is highly technological and the villains seem to have telekinetic abilities too, GameRant reported.

As previously reported by Parent Herald, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will be filled with surprises as the game shifts to another galaxy. However, Walters made it clear that Mass Effect's original elements will still be incorporated in the new game. He also said that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is their team's first project that is intended to be playable on new consoles available today.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is slated to be released in 2017. In the meantime, check out the game's first cinematic trailer here. You can also let us know your insights on "Mass Effect: Andromeda" in our comments section below.
