Nintendo Switch will be getting its own version of the hit Wii U game "Super Smash Bros". The game however, may not be released along with Nintendo Switch's expected release date sometime in March 2017.
Nintendo hopes to release the Switch version of "Super Smash Bros" within the first six months of the console's launch according to LetsPlayVideoGames. "Super Smash Bros" has been a best-selling game franchise spanning several of Nintendo's consoles from the N64 up to the Wii U.
"Super Smash Bros" has been popular for being a unique fighting game containing a crossover of characters from multiple game titles particularly within Nintendo and its partner companies' game lineups. Nintendo fans will recognize familiar faces from classic titles, such as Mario, Link, Kirby, etc in "Super Smash Bros".
Presently, no fixed date has been set for the release of the Nintendo Switch. Further details will be revealed in January 2017 through an event that Nintendo will be live-streaming globally.
As expected of Nintendo, basing upon its history of console releases, trademarked names such as "Mario" and "Zelda" are likely to have a port of their own game in the upcoming console's game lineup. Amiibo support is also expected in the Nintendo Switch, as some reports indicate that the release of Cloud and Bayonetta Amiibo figurines, expected to be released this year, will be pushed back to next year to go along with the launch of the Nintendo Switch.
"Super Smash Bros" on the Nintendo Switch will hopefully be able to make use of the existing Amiibo figurines. We're also hoping that more games will be developed for the Switch to make use of this feature. Until official word about the Nintendo Switch and its game lineup comes out in January, we can only speculate as to what new games or classics will find their way into the console.
