According to the CEO Elon Musk, the explosion of the SpaceX Rocket is due to an extreme condition that the oxygen fuel may have become frozen solid before the launch. On CNBC, Elon Musk stated that the company is getting closer to giving a more clear reason on why the explosion happened. The pad exploded during the refueling of the Falcon 9 rocket and destroyed a communications satellite where the Facebook used to provide Intenet service to millions of people in the world.
Elon Musk shared some ideas how the explosion happened. "Oxygen was so cold it got to a solid state," Musk said per CNN. This solid state came in contact with the liquid helium fuel and complex carbon compounds. The mixture of liquid oxygen and helium ignited the power of the rocket.
Elon Musk, for starters, is also the CEO of electric car maker Tesla (TSLA), stated that they never encountered this kind of problem before and it is also the toughest one to be solved. For the information of everybody, oxygen freezes at a temperature of negative 361 degrees Fahrenheit at normal atmospheric pressure.
The SpaceX would clearly elaborate on Elon Musk's comments on the explosion and their attention is focused on one of the three pressure vessels that contained the rocket. They confirmed that the failure of those vessels in laboratory testing has been recreated at its Texas facility.
Just recently, the company resumed the testing of Falcon 9 rocket in Texas, the company said that it is an important milestone for its comeback. Originally the company hopes in resuming the flight by the end of November but they reschedule it. Elon Musk said on Friday that the company should launch it by mid-December, Universe Today reported.
