Here's good news to avid MacBook fans! The new MacBook Pro have entered the "preparing for shipment" stage and should be delivered to the first customers by Wednesday, November 16. However, according to UPS, the delivery dates for some can be as early as Monday, November 14. This is certainly good news for users who can't wait to get their hands on their MacBook Pro with Touch Bar.
Mac Rumors reported the possible early shipment of the cutting-edge new Apple product over the weekend. The MacBook Pro Touch Bar is the most heavily anticipated laptop for the year. According to Apple's Senior Vice President for Worldwide Marketing, Paul Schiller, the company has received more online orders for the this year's models than any other models in their history. Sources also speculate that the newly released MacBook Pro Touch Bar has outsold all other laptops for 2016.
The main difference for this cycle of MacBook Pro releases is the Touch Bar. This feature is available in two out of the three new models. Other than that, these notebooks are thinner than ever before, Apple Insider explains.
The Touch Bar is a touch-sensitive strip on top of the keyboard where the function keys used to sit. Although the function keys are meant to have dedicated or app context-sensitive functionality, the Touch Bar is several levels ahead of the keys. The touch bar shows different keys, characters, and functions depending on the app currently running.
Developers have been given a free hand with what they want to do on the touch bar. Unlike function keys, the context-sensitive touch areas also do not have a fixed width or size. Some touch bar keys are wider than most, and in the case of emojis, these are packed on the touch bar filling up more due to the smaller size of the virtual keys.
The 2016 Apple laptops are also the most expensive MacBook Pro. The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar is priced at $1,799, while the 15-inch MacbookPro with Touch Bar costs $2,399.
