Apple has just released the Apple iOS 10.2 (Beta 2) to registered developers. This is a pre-release exclusively for developers to use with their projects. The latest Beta promises new features including one which is designed for emergency situations.
According to MacRumors.com, the Apple iOS 10.2 (Beta 2) update includes an SOS feature that calls emergency services when the power button is pressed five times consecutively. However, this feature will only be available in about 14 countries.
The Apple iOS 10.2 (Beta 2) will also include a TV guide app. In addition, the Music app will have larger Shuffle and Repeat buttons during playback.
GottaBeMobile.com added that while the Update 2 is for iOS developers, the iOS 10.2 Beta 1 update was earlier released for public beta testers. This will allow beta testers to try out the update's new features.
One of the most prominent features of the Apple iOS 10.2 (Beta 2) update is a new camera setting called the "Preserve Camera Settings." This will allow frequent camera users to keep their last camera settings for use in the next shot. This will help camera bugs to spend less time fiddling with their settings and more time framing, composing, or otherwise taking the shot. According to reports, some of the settings that are preserved include filters, Camera Mode, and Live Photo settings.
Those who are heavily into chat would find the update to their liking with the addition of more than 70 new emojis in the Apple iOS 10.2 (Beta 2). There has not been any release date for the new updates. However, these are both expected to be available for user download within the month.
For those who cannot wait, they can still download the updated betas. Developers have to sign up with the Apple Developer Program to be able to download Apple iOS 10.2 (Beta 2). Users can sign up with the Apple's Beta program to be able to download the updated beta 1 via iTunes.
