Back in our childhood days, we wish our shoes can tighten themselves, and now, with Nike's self-lacing shoes, that just turned from fiction to fact. The future-styled Nike Mag was certainly a dream footwear, but it cost an absurd amount of money. Luckily, Nike had once again blown our minds when they unveiled its first "self-lacing" shoe in another silhouette, and with a lower price.
Nike's self-lacing shoes have a signature adaptive fit. The concept basically forms a symbiotic relationship between the feet and the shoes. The design of Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 is based on an algorithmic pressure equation, equipped with a pressure sensor that automatically tightens the straps until it senses resistance as noted by Wired.
The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 is more than just a luxury it is engineered to solve the most common problems of many athletes, the undue pressure of the foot caused by tight tying. This futuristic project was led by Senior Innovator Tiffany Beers. She explains that Nike's self-lacing shoes feature two buttons on the side allowing the wearer to adjust the perfect fit.
According to Nice Kicks, the person behind Nike's self-lacing shoes Tinker Hatfield announces that the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 will be available in three colorways: Black/White-Blue Lagoon and Metallic Silver/Black-White and the White/White-White. On Monday, Nike's official website posted an update on when and where it will be available. Nike's self-lacing shoes NIke HyperAdapt 1.0 in Black/White-Blue Lagoon will be in the NIKE+ ClubHouse and Nike Soho store at 45 Grand in New York. Customers can get their hands on the pioneered product from December 1 at a retail price of $720.00.
Additionally, customers who are using the NIKE+APP can avail of a limited early access on November 28 by appointment. They will be notified through the app's "reserved for you" system and claim their purchase at selected retail locations.
